As with other types of yoga poses, there are a lot of benefits associated with the Ustrasana pose. It is one of the easiest yoga poses. It also does not require strenuous body movements to achieve it. However, this being said, it is good to always consult with your doctor to ensure that your body can handle physically engaging tasks, such as yoga in general. How To Do The Ustrasana:

To start off, one needs to take precautionary steps to avoid self-inflicted injuries. One should ensure that his/her body can handle the exercise. If your knees are sensitive, it is recommended to kneel in a soft spot. The environment should also be comfortable for practicing:

Get Into Position: Kneel with your hands on the hips. You should ensure that your legs are parallel to each other and that your knees are at the same distance apart from each other as from your hips. Ensure that you are comfortable enough in this position, your knees are not hurting, and you are flexible.

Reach out for your heels with the toes tacked. Reach out for your heels with both arms. If for some reason, you are not able to reach your heels, it is recommended to use yoga blocks for support. It will greatly help in being able to touch your heels.
